For those of us die hard hockey fans out there, the off-season is excruciatingly long.  With very little news coming out aside from Phoenix’s legal battles and the lingering free agents waiting to be signed.  Hardly enough to keep us all captivated while we whittle away the hours until the players hit the ice again.  Well, chins up hockey fans, because the NHL has taken pity and released their top 10 best hits of the 2008-09 season.

Being that hockey is such a physical sport, it is a wonder that they can pick just 10.  My personal fave on this list is No. 10 just because of the look on Stephane Robidas’s face when he pops back up over the boards.  Anyway, enjoy the hard-hitting action.  It’s something to tide you over for the next few days.

And, as an extra bonus, the NHL has also released their top 10 saves of the 2008-09 season.
