Colorado Back on Top?
After their worst season since moving to Denver in 1995, the Avs has shocked everyone by starting this season off with an excellent 6-1-2. Even die-hard Colorado fans didn’t see it coming.
Of course we are only into Week 3 of the regular season, but the team has seemingly turned over a new leaf. They’ve pulled off wins over the San Jose, Vancouver, Boston, Toronto, Montreal, and their biggest rivals in Detroit. They’re currently leading the Western Conference thanks to the handy work of youngsters such as Paul Stastny and Wojtek Wolski and veterans like Darcy Tucker and Milan Hejduk. Craig Anderson has also been a champion in the net, which has resulted in quite a few wins for the Avs.
They’ll be facing off against Detroit again over the weekend as the Red Wings head to Colorado to see if they can make up some ground. But first they’ll be hosting the Hurricanes to see if they can make up for a loss against Minnesota on Wednesday night. The Hurricanes aren’t nearly the force they were last season with a 2-4-2 record so far this season. I think Colorado will likely play it up on the home ice to hand the Hurricanes their third straight up loss of the season. BetUS is offering the following odds on the game:
Colorado Avalanche @ Carolina Hurricanes
Puck Line
Hurricanes: +1 ½ -320
Avalanche: -1 ½ +180
Moneyline
Hurricanes: -105
Avalanche: -115
I for one am very excited to see how these weekend games playout for the Avs. Hopefully a playoff run is in the cards. Check out the weekend schedule below and don’t forget that BetUS has you covered on all NHL regular season games.
