Tuesday Night Preview
Here’s a quick look at the games slated to start this Tuesday, November 17. Check it out and then get to BetUS to put down a wager on one or more of the games.
Washington Capitals @ New York Rangers
This is the second of four matchups between these two teams. The first game resulted in a 4-3 win for the Rangers. This one might have a different end result as it is rumored that this game will be the return for the Capitals’ star player Alex Ovechkin. His return after a six game hiatus will definitely be a moral boost for the team as well as the fans. The return of Ovi aside, both of these teams have a few players still on the injury list.
Other than that, these two teams are pretty evenly matched. Both the teams have played 20 games with the Caps taking 12 wins and the Rangers taking 11. Overall though, I think the Caps have the advantage in this one as the Rangers are struggling to find consistency. In fact, after their 7 game winning streak, the team has had quite a few downs. With Ovi back on the ice and the Rangers hitting a dry spell, the Capitals should do well.
Toronto Maple Leafs @ Ottawa Senators
This should be a pretty interesting game to watch, as these two teams seem to have the opposite problem. The Senators can’t close a game and the Leafs are hopeless early on in the game.
The Senators went 1-2-1 in their last four games, giving up leads in the third period in three of those four games. And though their inability to grab a win is frustrating, it doesn’t compare to the problems that the Leafs have had this year. They have only won 3 games this season and have struggled to find their feet early on in the game. In fact, they have been outscored 23-9 in the first period. With so many problems for Toronto, it seems unlikely that they’ll take the win on the road. Expect the Senators to grab a win on the home ice.
BetUS is offering the following odds:
Puck Line
Maple Leafs: +1 ½ -220
Senators: -1 ½ +180
Moneyline
Maple Leafs: +140
Senators: -160
Carolina Hurricanes @ Montreal Canadiens
It’s one bad thing after another for the Hurricanes. First they lose their starting goalie when Cam Ward suffered an on ice cut, and now they’re missing their no. 1 center Eric Staal. They are currently posting a 3-12-4 record and only just snapped their 14 game losing streak with a shootout win against Minnesota.
The Canadiens, though they have been fairing better than the Hurricanes overall, have had a few troubles lately as well. They have lost 4 of their last 6 games and will likely be anxious to grab a win in front of the home crowd. With the Hurricanes still suffering the loss of key players, this should result in a win for the Canadiens.
BetUS is offering the following odds:
Puck Line
Hurricanes: +1 ½ -220
Canadiens: -1 ½ +180
Moneyline
Hurricanes: +140
Canadiens: -160
San Jose Sharks @ Nashville Predators
San Jose continues to impress as they are coming into this game on a 12 game point streak; however, they are a bit disappointed by blowing a couple of two goal leads recently. Despite that, the Sharks have been on fire this season. They haven’t lost in regulation time since October 22 when they fell to Tampa Bay. With them consistently pulling in wins, they are definitely destined for another playoff run this season. And though the Predators aren’t the worst team in the league right now, a win for them against the Sharks doesn’t seem likely. Even on the home ice.
BetUS is offering the following odds:
Puck Line
Sharks: -1 ½ +200
Predators: +1 ½ -240
Moneyline
Sharks: -140
Predators: +120
Colorado Avalanche @ Calgary Flames
This will be a key divisional game, as the Flames will look to take the lead in the Northwest. Colorado ruled the ice throughout October, but their success has seemingly slowed recently. They’ve lost three in a row for the first time this season. But knowing that their lead of the division is on the line, they are like to pick up the pace just in time for their road trip to Calgary.
Calgary is entering this game on the back of plenty of good momentum. They are returning after a 2-0-1 road trip and have won five of their last six games. Despite their success, they will have to be at the top of their game if they want to take a win from a very strong Colorado team. Expect this one to be close.
BetUS is offering the following odds:
Puck Line
Avalanche: +1 ½ -190
Flames: -1 ½ +160
Moneyline
Avalanche: +165
Flames: -200
